HabsWorld.net --

There will be only one Hab representing the organization at the upcoming All-Star Game. On Wednesday, the NHL released the full rosters for each divisional team and it will be P.K. Subban going from the Canadiens.

As part of the new format this year, each division has a roster comprised of eleven players (six forwards, three defencemen, and two goalies) and each NHL team must have at least one representative. As a result, only a few teams have more than one player attending. Subban and the other reserves were selected by the NHL’s Hockey Operations Department.

The divisions will play 20-minute ‘mini-games’ consisting of 3-on-3 play. The two winning divisions will then play a second 20-minute mini-game to determine the winner and receive a $1 million prize.

Despite being named to the season-ending first All-Star teams in 2013 and 2015, this will be the first time that Subban actually will participate in the All-Star Game. He was invited to take part in the rookie portions of the Skills Competition in 2011 so it won’t be his first trip to the festivities.

So far this season, Subban has suited up in all 41 games for the Habs, picking up a goal along with 26 assists while averaging a team high 25:31 per game. He also ranks third amongst NHL blueliners in assists.

Subban is the first Montreal skater to be selected to the game by the league (not being voted in by the fans) since Sheldon Souray back in 2004. Here is a look at the Habs’ representation in past years:
