The 2013 World Junior Hockey Championships will
be taking place from December 26th through January 5th.  This year, the
Habs will have a pair of representatives, Sebastian Collberg (Sweden) and Alex
Galchenyuk (USA).  Montreal also has a pair of players participating in the
Spengler Cup, David Desharnais (Gotteron) and Raphael Diaz (Davos).  As is our annual tradition, we
will be tracking each players’ progress throughout their tournaments.

World Juniors

Player Notes: Collberg recorded an assist on Sweden’s lone goal in their
final exhibition game against Team Canada.  * – He was 1/2 in shootout
opportunities, his goal was the winner in the semi-finals vs Russia.  As a
result, he is credited with a goal in that game.  All 5 of his non-shootout points
were on the powerplay.  Collberg led Team Sweden in goals (4) and points (6
– tied).

Player Notes: Galchenyuk averaged 14:32 of ice time in the two
pre-tournament games.  He was named Team USA’s Player of the Game vs
Germany.  Galchenyuk finished the tournament tied for 10th in tournament
scoring, fourth best on Team USA.
