HabsWorld.net --

Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens will try to keep the Boston Bruins at bay, and build on their first game victory, with another win at home. Conversely, the Bruins hope to steal a game on the road, before they return to their friendly confines of Boston. Something will have to give, as the playoffs are not known for deciding games via shootouts.

Game number one was a first for many Canadiens players. Nine players participated in their first NHL playoff game: Carey Price, Tom Kostopolous, Mark Streit, Mike Komisarek, Josh Gorges, Sergei & Andre Kostitsyn, Maxim Lapierre, Guillaume Latendresse. Three of the Habs goal scorers (the Kostitsyn brothers, & Kostopolous) scored their first goals. The team’s aggressiveness on their forechecking, their quick decision making by their defencemen, and solid goaltending by Price helped lead to the team’s victory. Montreal will require the same level of intensity in every period to deliver the same results.

Look for a more physical presence from Boston tonight, with the Bruins forwards doing their best to crowd the front of the net to put pressure on Price.
