HabsWorld.net --

Fourteen players recorded at least one point and all but one player finished in the + column; all in all a pretty great night.

Saku Koivu (B+) – Not his best game one bad penalty and only 50% on the face-offs but he did pick up two assists.

Chris Higgins (A) – WHEW the pucks are finally going in for him, goals in consecutive games is nice, his effort is always there winning the battles for the pucks.

Michael Ryder (C+) – He threw 2 hits that’s about it otherwise he was a non factor.

Tomas Plekanec (A) – Won a very big face-off to Kovalev and made a wicked third period saucer pass to Brisebois for another goal.

Alex Kovalev ( A) – Used his lethal slap shot to give the Habs their first insurance goal and picked up another assist he is yet to have an off game in the young season.

Guillaume Latendresse ( B-) – Three good hits and is starting to play better and skate harder but more is still needed.

Bryan Smolinski (A) – Two blocked shots and an excellent assist on the Grabovski goal. For 11 minutes of work he was great.

Mikhail Grabovski (A) – Less then 10 minutes of play, scored a goal and did not back down from Brad Ference after a skirmish in the Canadiens zone.

Kyle Chipchura (B) – Played well in the defensive zone and kept chances to almost zilch when he was on the ice.

Steve Begin (A) – His best game of the season, not only because he scored a goal but he also threw five hits.

Tom Kostopoulos (A) – Boy oh boy does he look much better on the 4th line, picked up an assist, blocked a shot and laid 2 hits.

Mike Komisarek (A+) – Tremendous game blocked 5 shots, drew a penalty on Chara. Dished out 4 hits and made the Bruins forwards a non factor when he was on the ice.

Andrei Markov (C+) – He scored a goal but he was very clumsy with the puck in his own end, three giveaways is not acceptable but his team-mates helped him tonight.

Roman Hamrlik (A) – Might be in early contention for best UFA signing in the league, he is almost perfect every shift.

Patrice Brisebois (C+) – Also scored a goal but 3 giveaways two of which created scoring chances can not be tolerated. The boards are your friend.

Mark Streit (B-) – Took a weak penalty but was a +2 on the night and pretty safe in his own zone.

Francis Bouillon (B) – Three was his magic number.. +3, 3 hits and unfortunately 3 giveaways. Did well for a 6th defenseman.

Cristobal Huet ( A+) – Kept the Canadiens in the game when they struggled to get the puck out of the zone.

Power Play (B+) – Two goals on seven chances looks nice but they must improve their five on three play.

Penalty Kill (C) Allowed one goal on three chances and had a lot of trouble getting the puck out of the zone. The fact they only sent the Bruins to the power play 3 times is nice though.

Carbonneau (A) Rolled the lines well and the players produced, allowed the Canadiens to use their speed and punish the slower Bruins.
