HabsWorld.net --

Congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks for making quick work of the Ottawa Senators to capture the Stanley Cup in a 4-1 series win.

Teemu Selanne raised the Cup for the first time in his 13-year, 1041-game career. The 36-year-old will have plenty on his mind as retiring on top may be a likely option for the Finnish Flash.

Scott Niedermayer was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Playoff MVP thanks to his leadership, strong defensive play, and 11 points.

Meanwhile, Daniel Alfredsson’s 14 goals and 22 points in the post season will be forever overshadowed by his decision to riffle a puck directly at Scott Niedermayer with only a few seconds left in Game 4. While there was some debate as to whether or not the shot was intentional, the incident did nothing to help the Senators cause as they went on to lose both that game and the next for an early forth round exit.

As the 2006-2007 season comes to a close, as does the HabsWorld Playoff Predictions pool. Here are the final standings. Congratulations to your regular HW Weekly writer, B. La Rose, for walking away with the win.
