Strengths

Very good skating stride. Decent speed, and a good puck moving defensemen.
Makes a good first pass.

 

Weaknesses

Must add some size and strength to go to the next level. Lack of physical

Canadiens Mid-season Top 20 – 19. Mark Flood- D. (NA)
Flood makes his first appearance on the Habs Top 20 list, as he is having an
impressive season for the Petes, and is considered one of the most improved
players in the OHL so far this season. Already setting career highs in goals and
close to it in points and assists, Flood is getting valuable experience playing
on the top pairing, leading the PP.

February 2004 – Flood is having a career year, as he has
been given the role of leading the defense especially on the power play, where
he has been effective all season long. While he has been able to produce on
offense, his defensive game has taken a considerable hit lately, as he continues
to improve his all round game.

January 2004 – Flood is currently fourth on his team in
scoring, while he plays on the top pairing, and gets both PP and PK time. Flood
has almost doubled his goal production from last year, in 27 less games, and is
close to setting career highs in assist and points as well. With his team
struggling of late, his +/- numbers have dipped, as has the entire teams for the
most part.

December 2003 – Flood is currently tied for 4^th
on his team in scoring, while he plays on the top pairing, and gets both PP and
PK time. Flood has scored as many goals this year, as he did in all the 124
games he’s played in the OHL. After scoring one goal his first year, and five
goals last year, Flood’s new role and increased ice time has helped him gain
confidence in his offensive abilities.

November 2003 – Flood is currently 2^nd on his
team in scoring, while he plays on the top pairing, and gets both PP and PK
time.

October 2003 – Not only is Flood the top scoring defensemen
on his team, he is the top scorer on his team. So far Flood has been effective
as the teams PP specialist, as he moves the puck well, and has been producing on
a nightly basis.

September 2003 – With the loss of some key players this
season, Flood will be looked for to play a major role on the Pete’s top
defensive pairing. He will play in all situations, but is looked to lead the
power play especially. So far in three games, he’s picked up one goal, two
assists, two penalty minutes, while being a -2. 3-1-2-3 2-2
