HW Updates, by Dan Linn

March 2004 – Playoffs Report – Hammerby – Johan Eneqvist and
his team Hammerby look to build on their impressive season in the tier -2
league, as they were the top team in the league all season long and stand a
chance to move into the SEL next season. Eneqvist was unable to score in the
first game, but he did reach the score sheet with two penalty minutes as
Hammerby took on AIK in the first round but lost game one. Eneqvist had trouble
getting ice time with Leksand of the SEL, so hopefully with his new team he will
gain valuable experience being in a winning environment and helping his team win
on a consistent basis.

February 2004 – Eneqvist has had a solid season in the
tier-2 league, as he was one of the top scorers on the team all season long, and
has been productive in the playoffs as well as his team sits near the top of the
league.

January 2004 – Currently sits at fifth on his team in
scoring, the top team in the tier-2 league, as he has been able to pick his
offensive production, after hitting a streak where he had trouble recording much
offense. Eneqvist is tied for the team lead in points in the Superallsvenskan,
an 8 team tournament for the top teams in the tier-2 league.

December 2003 – Currently sits at 8th on his team
in scoring, the top team in the tier-2 league. There’s talk that the team could
be moved up to the SEL next year, but it’s just talk as of now. Points have been
harder to come by for the young Swede lately, as he’s picked up only two points
over the last 7 games.

November 2003 – After leaving Leksand of the SEL, for
Hammerby a tier-2 league, Eneqvist has gone from the 4th line to one
of the top lines on the top team in the tier-2 league. With his team having only
1 loss this season, Eneqvist is surrounded by quality forwards.

October 2003 – Is off to a good start playing in the tier-2
league. The center/left wing, has been getting time playing on the right wing so
far, but he has played some center. Eneqvist already has as many points this
year, as he had all of last year playing on the 4th line for Leksand.

October 2003 – Special Report – (‘00, 4th round
109th)C. Over the summer Eneqvist announced that he was leaving the
SEL for the tier-2 league in Sweden, as he was unhappy with the amount of ice
time he was receiving. Playing on the 4th line with Leksand, Eneqvist
saw little game action, but with his new team Hammerby, who are one of the top
teams in their league, he will see an increased amount of ice time, playing on
one of the top lines. So far the move has gone well, as he’s one of his team’s
top scorers and already has double the amount of goals he had all of last year
in just seven games, as he has picked up four goals so far this season.

September 2003 – Decided to leave the SEL as his team
Leksand isn’t known for developing young players, so he moved down to the tier-2
league. With his new team Hammerby, they are one of the top teams in the league,
and Eneqvist will go from playing 4th line limited ice time, to top
line minutes. So far he is off to a very good start, as he leads his team in
scoring. In four games he has picked up 4 goals, one assist, two penalty
minutes, while being a +4. 4-4-1-5 2 +4 What’s impressive is that two of his
four goals have been game winners.
