Habs assign 11 players to Hamilton
Twenty-six players still at training camp

Alexander Perezhogin, one of Montreal’s bright young rookies, will begin the 2003-2004 campaign in Hamilton.


Canadiens GM Bob Gainey announced Wednesday that 11 players had been released from the team’s training camp.


The following players were assigned to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs: goaltenders Jean-Francois Damphousse and Eric Fichaud, defensemen Francois Beauchemin, Karl Dykhuis and Patrick Traverse, and forwards Pierre Dagenais, Sylvain Blouin, Benoit Gratton, Jonathan Ferland, Benjamin Carpentier and Alexander Perezhogin.


A total of 26 players remain at the Canadiens’ training camp. The club has two games remaining on its preseason schedule; the Canadiens will host the Minnesota Wild Friday night at the Bell Centre, then travel to Ottawa to take on the Senators on Saturday.


 


The Canadiens also announced their protected and unprotected lists for the waiver draft.
